Hudson Marine Management Services (HMMS) Danger Plan

The Norwegian Ship Control Legislation requires that all doors, hatches, manhole covers, etc. providing access to spaces where there may be gas or lack of oxygen shall be clearly marked with signs warning of the danger.

Hudson Marine Management Services (HMMS) has developed a Danger Plan that clearly identifies those spaces that may contain explosive gases or a lack of oxygen. Additionally, the Hudson Marine Management Services Danger Plan includes key excerpts from the Norwegian Ship Control Legislation reminding the vessel crew of appropriate procedures before entering confined spaces

In addition to the plan itself, Hudson Marine Management Services (HMMS) also provides the required signs for marking the various accesses. The signs are made of vinyl and are self-adhesive. Signs in more rigid material and templates for painting the warning are also available.

To complete a Danger Plan, an overview of accesses to all confined spaces must be available. This information is normally found on:

  • Tank Plan
  • GA-Plan
  • Manhole plan

Hudson Marine Management Services will, after receiving the information, build up a poster, based on the GA-Plan. This process will be completed approximately within two (2) weeks.
