Bunker Oil Transfer Procedure Poster Meets ISM Requirements

Bunker Oil Transfer is recognized by ISM requirements as a critical operation. As such it is required that written procedures for this operation are developed. Further, if bunkering operations take place within U.S. waters, U.S. regulations require that certain procedures and drawings be provided and available to the receiving as well as the delivering facility, vessel or barge.

Hudson Marine Management Services (HMMS) has developed a "poster" which covers both the ISM requirements and U.S. regulations as stated above. This Bunker Oil Transfer Procedure Poster addresses all aspects of the requirements including procedures, drawings, diagrams as well as a bunkering checklist. All of this information is arranged on a single poster which can displayed at the appropriate location and provide quick easy reference to all information required.

In order to produce a poster, the following information must be provided:

Capacity Plan, showing bunker oil capacities and location of tanks
Positions onboard responsible for the buBunker Oil Transfer
Copy of diagrams for:
- Oil Transfer System
- Vent pipes (In engine room and cargo holds / on deck)
- Overflow system
- Lub. Oil Transfer System
- Sludge Transfer System
- Bilge System

Extracts from the above listed diagrams will be compiled in one single drawing which, as explained above, will be part of the Bunker Transfer Procedure Poster.
